METHOD OF DETERMINING STRESS STATE OF CHICKEN OF MEAT PRODUCTIVE DIRECTION Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A01K67/02

Abstract RU 2473215 C1

FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to poultry industry. The method proposes the selection of biological material and determining the concentration of corticosterone by immunoenzyme technique. At that, the samples of the litter are taken in 1-3 hours after the last factor exposure which supposedly causes stress. The extraction of corticosterone is carried out with 89-91% ethanol from the dried and powdered samples of litter. 200 mg of sample of litter dried at 20-50°C without light is milled and poured with 5-6 ml of 89-91% ethanol. The mixture is stirred and centrifuged at 2500 r/min for 9-11 minutes. Then, the supernatant is discarded, and the residue is added with 2-3 ml of 89-91% ethanol. The mixture is stirred and centrifuged at 2500 r/min for 9-11 minutes. Then the supernatants are combined after the first and second centrifugation, the resulting extract is evaporated to dryness and dissolved in 2 ml of 89-91% ethanol. The concentration of corticosterone in the sample more than 50 nmol/l indicates the activation of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system of the body and serves as an indicator of the stress state of chickens of meat productive direction.

EFFECT: invention enables to determine the stress state of chicken meat productive direction.
