FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: recovery of cobalt-60 in a nuclear channel-type reactor is carried out by radiation of additional absorbers with cobalt-59 and includes operations of loading and unloading of additional absorbers from process channels. It is proposed to initially load additional absorbers with cobalt-59 into process channels of a peripheral zone of a reactor, to hold for 300-600 efficient days, then to transfer into process channels of the reactor core and to maintain for 1550-1600 efficient days.
EFFECT: higher rated parameters of cobalt-60 activity in all additional absorbers.
