FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: improved wireless communication for user equipment (UE) in a semi-active state is disclosed. A base station employs particular wireless channel resources, monitored by UE in a CELL_FACH state to trigger transmission of channel feedback information from the UE. The UE can maintain the CELL_FACH state when receiving and responding to the trigger signal, and can receive subsequent traffic data in such state.
EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of wireless communication in semi-active state.
