SUBSTANCE: method is realised by increasing the repetition frequency of probing signals defined by the combination order in the elevation plane of the beam pattern for emission and reception, using a priori information and a posteriori information, obtained during scanning, as a result of which the scanning zone is broken into a barrier detection zone and a tracking zone.

EFFECT: optimisation of detection characteristics of small objects on the far boundary of the scanning zone for the same time of scanning the scanning zone, shorter time for scanning the scanning zone, eliminating the uncertainty of determining range to location objects, broader functional capabilities for detecting paths of objects, measurement of their path parameters and multiplicative tracking of objects, more complete and efficient use of a priori information and a posteriori information obtained during radar scanning of space, optimisation of energy and time resources of a radar station on the space of the scanning zone and broader functional capabilities of the radar station on adaptation to the target environment for rational technical organisation.
