FIELD: radar.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of radar detection of aerial objects and, in particular, to methods of detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) with low radar signature. In the disclosed method, a detection zone in the form of a band is selected within a wide azimuthal sector, far boundary of which corresponds to the instrument detection range of the radar station, and the radial length is 1 km. In order to receive signals from aerial objects, overcoming said detection band within a wide azimuthal sector, detection unmanned aerial vehicles (DUAV) are placed within the corresponding narrow azimuth sectors at distances exceeding the far boundary of the active detection radar by 3 km. One DUAV is used in each narrow azimuth sector. Flight altitudes of all DUAVs are set equal and corresponding to the average flight altitudes of the expected UAVs with unauthorized trajectories. Range-azimuth sectors in which UAVs are detected are assigned. Beam patterns of passive radars of the sector and auxiliary DUAVs are directed along the azimuthal coordinate to the range-azimuth sector in which detection is carried out. Horizontal position of its beam pattern in elevation plane is determined for sector DUAV. Each j-th auxiliary DUAV is set to an elevation position of its beam pattern, which provides different elevation angles of patterns of various auxiliary DUAVs.
EFFECT: development of an improved method of detecting UAVs with higher characteristics due to reception of scattered signals in the rear hemisphere with respect to the detection object.
