FIELD: test equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to experimental investigation procedure of fire hazard of construction materials. Flammability testing method of construction materials consists in arrangement of test specimens in a combustion chamber, preparation and supply of gas-air mixture to each channel of the preparation system; exposure of each specimen to heat. A chamber with variable volume for mixing of flammable gas and air is created in each channel of the gas-air mixture preparation system. Additional swirl of gas flows is created in the mixing chamber. A protective meshed screen is installed above air intake openings of the burner. Additional protective meshed screen is located at the gas-air mixture outlet of the burner at an angle. The above method is implemented by means of a plant intended to determine the flammability group of construction materials. The above plant includes gas-air mixture preparation system, in which an additional flammable gas and air flows mixing device is installed. The mixing device consists of a connection pipe and an insert. A hole is made in the centre of the insert. A cylinder with holes is mounted on the connection pipe. A protective meshed screen is mounted above air intake openings.

EFFECT: additional protective meshed screen at gas-air mixture outlet of the burner at an angle provides self-induced cleaning due to sliding and blowing from falling fractions of test specimens.
