SUBSTANCE: method is implemented for the duration of self-burning using an appliance of OTM for definition of group of hard-flammable and combustible solid materials when tested to a maximum temperature of ignition and combustion of volatiles of the sample with measuring the duration of reaching the peak temperature, after which the burner is turned off, the sample is kept in the chamber to cool down completely to room temperature, then the sample is removed from the chamber and weighed, and after reaching the maximum temperature of ignition and combustion of volatiles of the sample and turning off the burner measurement of the temperature and time of continuous self-combustion and the sample material prior to the decline of self-combustion temperature is continued, then the sample is kept in the chamber to cool down completely to room temperature, removed from the chamber and weighed, and after the termination of test of the sample the results of measurements of time and temperature of self-combustion of the sample is twice subjected to modeling, first in the form of a direct mathematical function of change of temperature of combustion, depending on the time of continuous self-combustion, and then in the form of the opposite mathematical function of change of time of continuous self-combustion, depending on the temperature of self-combustion of the sample.
