FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal forming and may be used in aircraft engineering for making large-sized sheet and bulky parts. Billet is formed in two steps. At first step, billet is shaped to about 80-100% of final shape in cold state by creating compression strains in surface layer of billet bulged side. At second step, the billet is finally shaped by creating expansion strains for equalising and compression stress relaxation.
EFFECT: higher quality, reduced labor input.
