METHOD FOR MAKING COMPLEX-PROFILE AXIALLY SYMMETRICAL PARTS OF HARD-TO-FORM MULTIPHASE ALLOYS AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working, possibly manufacture of precise blanks of such parts as complex-shape discs with significantly changed thickness and diameter and with deep non-formed undercuts from hard-to-form multiphase alloys, particularly from refractory nickel alloys. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing shaped blank with possibility of its fixation and rotation; subjecting its peripheral portion to local shaping at temperature values no higher than 0.4 of its melting temperature but lower than temperature of planned recrystallization at rate 10^-3-10²s^-1 1/s; performing local shaping at squeezing peripheral part of blank at least by means of one roller in direction of its generatrix onto mandrel simultaneously used for fixing central portion; setting time period of blank rotation relative to local tool no less than time period of intensive relaxation of stresses in deformed zones. Apparatus for making parts includes units for axial fixation and rotation of blank provided with attachments for mounting mandrels; at least one roller with roller holder and working furnace. The last has in its walls openings for introducing part of unit for fixing rollers. Actuating mechanisms are designed for rotating and moving rollers. Walls of furnace have movable portion arranged around opening for introducing roller with possibility of axial motion together with roller along the whole length of its working stroke. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of method, simplified design of apparatus. 25 cl, 23 dwg
