FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry. The aluminium hydroxide gel particle has Fe content of 1-10 ppm, sodium oxide content of not more than 0.1 wt % and 0.1 mol/l hydrochloric acid consumption of not less than 250 ml when determined by an antacid force measurement method specified in the 15th Revision of Japanese Pharmacopoeia. The method of producing the aluminium hydroxide gel particle involves adding a chelating agent to aqueous solution of a soluble aluminium salt to form a complex, reacting aqueous solution of a carbonate of an alkali metal or ammonium with the aqueous solution of a soluble aluminium salt at temperature of 10-40°C, separating the solid and liquid phases of the obtained reaction product to obtain a cake, reacting the obtained cake with aqueous solution of at least one ion-exchange agent selected from a group consisting of an inorganic acid and a water-soluble aluminium salt, and drying the cake.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a product of high purity, which is highly reactive with respect to acid.
