SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mixture of L- and D-enantiomers of methyl glycine diacetic acid or its corresponding mono-, di- or tri-alkali salts, or mono-, di- or triammonium salts, wherein said mixture primarily contains the corresponding L-isomer with an enantiomeric excess in the range from 10 to 75 %. Mixture can be used to produce laundry detergent compositions and dishwashing detergent compositions. Said mixture enables to obtain concentrated aqueous solutions of chelating agents, which are stable at temperatures in the range from 0 to 50 °C without addition of surfactants or organic polymers. Invention also relates to an aqueous solution containing said mixture, a method for producing the mixture and an aqueous solution, and their use for preparing laundry detergent compositions and dishwashing detergent compositions.
