FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: portable sclerometer is installed on the investigated surface. Three actions of portable sclerometer are performed per one action of the operator: lowering of indenter to the tested surface, introduction of indenter to surface layer to the specified depth and scratching of material of surface layer with the indenter. Activation energy of plastic deformation of that layer is calculated as per deformation characteristics. Before the indenter is introduced, basing element is pressed against the tested surface; then, basing element is diverted from the surface and scratching of the surface layer with the indenter is performed at the specified depth so that the scratch can pass through the contact point of basing element and the surface, and tangential force is evaluated at the same point. Sclerometer includes indenter, tangential force sensor, indenter's moving mechanism, basing element providing the constancy of value of the indenter's introduction to the tested surface. Tangential force sensor includes peak detector, and basing element has the possibility of being moved together with the indenter along the arc. Rotation centres of basing element and indenter coincide, and distances from rotation centre to the top of indenter and support part of basing element differs by the value equal to the required depth of the surface scratching.
EFFECT: enlarging technical capabilities and improving the accuracy of obtained results.
