FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions provides a method of inverting biaxial anisotropy of a reservoir bed, and identifying a complex fractured/diagonal system of bedding (104), as well as a method of extracting hydrocarbons from an underground region using triaxial induction logging and exploration/survey logging data. Disclosed is an inversion method which employs all nine components which can be measured by triaxial induction probes (101), plus the direction of drilling and deviation data to obtain triaxial induction response in an arbitrary anisotropic formation, caused by a non-orthogonal bedding plane and a fracture plane (or a diagonal bedding plane). A mathematical formula is provided, which links the conductivity tensor in the reference system of the probe and the conductivity tensor in the reference plane which is associated with fracture/diagonal bedding planes (102). This equation is inverted (103) in order to obtain components of the conductivity tensor in a fracture/diagonal coordinate system, along with incidence and bearing angles, for both the fracture/diagonal bedding planes and the probe.
EFFECT: method of inversion which can use all nine components which can be measured by triaxial inductive probes, plus the drift direction and deviation data, for solving tasks for triaxial induction response in an arbitrary anisotropic formation due to a non-orthogonal bedding plane and a fracture plane.
