SUBSTANCE: copier has reading apparatus configured to read a document image, and image forming apparatus configured to form an image on a sheet based on image data output from the reading apparatus. The image forming apparatus is configured to form an image on the sheet with transparent toner based on a brightness value lying within a given range of brightness values which are lower than the background brightness value of the document, and to form an image on the sheet with colour toner based on a brightness value which is lower than the given range of brightness values.
EFFECT: design of a copier which can copy the glossy area of a document as glossy area, and the non-glossy area of a document as a non-glossy area, without increasing the size of the device and at a low cost.
