FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: manufacture of active mass for alkaline battery oxide-nickel fibre electrode by way of application onto the electrode fibre base by paste spreading method. The paste is produced by way of mixing a polymer water-soluble sodium-carbossimetilcellulose binder, cobalt sulphate solution (activating additive) at a temperature of 45-55°C and with concentration equal to 140-145 g/l, a filler (nickel hydroxide finely dispersed powder), the ration of nickel to cobalt being 9:1. The paste is ground until a homogenous condition in a dissolver where the gap between the mill and the trough body is equal to 300-400 mm.

EFFECT: invention allows to improve cyclic, resource and specific capacity characteristics of nickel-cadmium battery oxide-nickel fibre electrodes.
