FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repair of cranes, particularly, to replacement of climbing crane cables. Crane block suspension is lowered on prepared repair support to allow free revolution of block and tackle and to coil new cable reel or to lay it on working site. Winch drum fasteners holding one part of line are removed to drop said run downward. Lifting mechanism is used to wind worn-out cable on winch drum so that dropped part of line does not enter the block and tackle suspension. Cable ends are interconnected to proceed with coiling connected cables in feeding new cable in preset path. Lifted part of line of new cable is secured by safety halyard, connection of cables is broken to remove worn-out cable clamps from the drum to drop the cable on surface. Repair halyard is downed from cargo truck secured hereto to be connected with second end of new cable and lifted onto said truck. Both ends of new cable are secured to winch drum to remove safety and repair halyards and to coil new cable on the drum by lifting mechanism.
EFFECT: lower labour input.
