FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: proposed internal combustion engine has, at least, one working chamber 130, 132 confined by piston 22 wherein fuel is injected. To separate combustion cycle and working cycle and to rule out flame penetration into working chamber, fuel injector is arranged in separate combustion chamber 152 adjoining said working chamber 130, 132. Note here that combustion chamber 152 features so sizes and shape and fuel injection is performed so that combustion occurs solely in combustion chamber 152. This results in that only expanding gaseous combustion products flow into working chamber 130, 132.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
