SUBSTANCE: selectively reflecting structure has a front surface and a back surface; a thermally transparent and visually opaque substrate having a first microporous polymeric layer and a colorant, the substrate having a first surface close to the front surface of the structure, and a second surface; and a thermally reflective layer having a low emissivity component adjacent the second surface of the thermally transparent and visually opaque substrate, the thermally reflective layer being close the back surface of the structure, wherein the structure has an average reflection coefficient <70% in the 400 nm-600 nm wavelength range; an average reflection coefficient >25% in the 9-12 mcm wavelength range; and an average radar transmission coefficient >90% in the frequency range of 1 GHz to about 5 GHz.
EFFECT: reduced detectability of an object in thermal regions of the electromagnetic spectrum.
