METHOD OF COVERING RECONSTRUCTIVE PLATE IN RECONSTRUCTION OF LOWER JAW AFTER SEGMENTAL RESECTION Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B17/00

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of medicine, namely, to surgical dentistry and is intended for application in treatment of patients with tumours of oropharyngeal area, which is accompanied with segmental resection of lower jaw and its reconstruction with titanium plate. After carrying out resection stage of operation segment of lower jaw is reconstructed with individually modelled titanium plate. In case of deficiency of soft tissues for covering reconstructive plate, pectoral flap, corresponding in width to length of part of reconstructive plate to be covered, is used. In this case only muscular part of pectoral flap without skin site is used with formation of cuff around reconstructive plate.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce and/or prevent postoperative complications, caused by reconstructive plate cutting, due to formation around it of soft-tissue cuff from muscular part of pectoral flap additionally to local tissues.
