SUBSTANCE: magnetic carrier is composed of magnetic carrier particles obtained by filling pores of particles of a porous magnetic core with a resin. On 18 straight lines drawn at intervals of 10°, passing through the middle point of maximum diameter Rx of the cross-section of the magnetic carrier particle in a reflected electron image of the cross-section of the magnetic carrier particle photographed by a scanning electron microscope, the number of magnetic core regions having a length of 6.0 mcm or longer ranges from 5.0% to 35.0% by number relative to the number of magnetic core regions having a length of 0.1 mcm or longer, and the number of regions other than the magnetic core part having a length of 4.0 mcm or longer ranges from 1.0% to 15.0% by number relative to the total the number of regions other than the magnetic core part having a length of 0.1 mcm or longer.
