SUBSTANCE: two-component developer contains blue toner having particles, each containing resin binder, a dye, an external additive and a magnetic carrier. The blue toner has the following characteristics: (i) when concentration of blue toner in the solution of blue toner in chloroform is given as Cc (mg/ml), and optical density of the solution at wavelength 712 nm is given as A712, the ratio of Cc to A712 satisfies the inequality 2.00<A712/Cc<8.15, (ii) lightness L* and saturation C* of the colour of the blue toner, measured in powdered state, satisfy the inequalities: 25.0≤L*≤40.0 and 50.0≤C*≤60.0; (iii) the absolute value of the amount of the triboelectric charge of the blue toner, measured using a two-component technique using blue toner and a magnetic carrier, is equal to 50 mC/kg or higher and 120 mC/kg or lower.
EFFECT: possibility of obtaining a high-resolution image with a lower level of applying toner than usually, possibility of maintaining high rate of printing and possibility of constantly forming an image with stable colour toner even during prolonged use.
