SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a toner used for developing an electrostatic image in electrophotography, electrostatic recording, or electrostatic printing. Claimed group of inventions includes toner variants. In this case, the toner contains a binder resin, coloring agent and release agent, the average roundness of the particles having a diameter in the range of 0.79 or more, but less than 1.15 of the most probable diameter in the quantitative particle size distribution of the toner is within the range of 1.010 or more but less than 1.020 of the average roundness of particles with a diameter of 1.15 or more from the most likely diameter, the toner preferably having a second peak particle diameter within the range of 1.21 or more but less than 1.31 of the most probable diameter in the quantitative toner size distribution.

EFFECT: technical result is to provide a toner having a high cleaning ability, a transferability, and a reproducibility of color.
