SUBSTANCE: method involves forming images, labelling a plurality of documents while forming on each document said image, having differences which are unique for each document, wherein most images made on said documents have a certain physical characteristic which provides copy protection and which satisfies a predetermined criterion, and said characteristic of most copies of these images which can be made does not satisfy said criterion; characteristics of said differences are obtained for each said document in order to obtain a unique image of the labelling and said unique image is stored.
EFFECT: wider range of physical properties of material of documents used during identification thereof.
