FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for emergency destruction of information on a laser disc by brief exposure of the disc to microwave radiation. The disc is first put into a box made of material whose wave impedance at microwave radiation frequency is equal to the average geometric value of wave impedance of the protective layer of the disc and the medium inside the storage. Thickness of the walls of the box is selected equal to a quarter wavelength of the microwave radiation in the material of the box.
EFFECT: faster destruction of information on a laser disc without increase in power of the microwave generator.
