SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture. A device for destroying insects by the thermal action of electromagnetic microwaves containing a power source, a radiating antenna and a microwave generator is proposed. A voltage converter and a voltage and current regulator are connected in series between the power source and the microwave generator, a microwave amplifier is connected to the output of the microwave generator, made with the possibility of amplifying the intensity of microwave radiation from the microwave generator without distorting its shape and spectral composition, an antenna with a narrow directional pattern emitting electromagnetic waves of circular polarization is connected to the output of the microwave amplifier. In this case, the radiated operating frequency of the device F_rad (GHz) is set to 300/l, where l is the length of the insect in millimeters, which corresponds to the insect”s own resonant frequency.

EFFECT: invention provides high efficiency in the process of use.
