FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: start-regulating device for high pressure gas discharge lamps comprises a frequency converter connected by its input leads to terminals of industrial grid, a transformer equipped with primary and secondary windings, and a capacitor, with one of leads connected to one of electrodes of a gas discharge lamp. The device is additionally equipped with a rectifying bridge and a controlled transformer, assembled on a three-rod core and having two primary windings arranged as one on each side rod of the three-rod core of the controlled transformer and connected to each other and the primary winding of the transformer in series as matching, and with their free outputs connected to output leads of a frequency transformer, and two secondary windings of the controlled transformer are arranged as one on each side rod of the three-rod core of the controlled transformer and are connected between each other and the secondary winding of the transformer in series as matching, at the same time the circuit comprising the secondary windings of the controlled transformer and the transformer, with its one free output is connected to the other lead of the capacitor, and with the other free lead to one of tops of the AC diagonal of the rectifying bridge, the other top of which is connected to the other electrode of the gas discharge lamp. The leads of the control winding arranged on the central rod of the three-rod transformer are connected with tops of the rectifying bridge AC diagonal.
