FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly to producing Ti-Al-C-based materials by high-temperature self-propagating synthesis. It may be used for application of heat-resistant coatings in aircraft engineering, metallurgy, woodwork, machine building and engine production. Initial components are taken on the following ratio, wt %: Ti - 59.2-71.5, Al - 24.0-33.4, C - 4.5-7.4. After combustion in self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, hot plastic forming via mould die with outlet diameter of 1-20 mm at 1350-1500°C.
EFFECT: higher hardness and efficiency, reduced power consumption.
