FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of a technology of self-distributing high-temperature synthesis (hereinafter – SHS), in particular, to the production of products by SHS stamping method. The invention can be used for the production of gradient materials based on MAX-phases of Ti-Al-C system, used in aviation, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and engine building. The method for the production of gradient materials based on MAX-phases of Ti-Al-C system includes preparation of an exothermic mixture of powders, pressing of the mixture into a workpiece, initiation of a combustion reaction, and subsequent pressing of combustion products. When preparing the exothermic mixture, initial components of the mixture are taken at a molar ratio of (x+1)Ti-(0.5-3)Аl-xC, where x=1 or 2, the pressed workpiece is placed in a steel shell with the ratio of an initial workpiece height hi to a final height of deformed material hf, equal to 1,5≤hi/hf≤3, and it is placed on metal substrate, after which synthesis and subsequent pressing are carried out.
EFFECT: simplification of the manufacture of gradient materials based on MAX-phases of Ti-Al-C system with high mechanical characteristics.
