FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of a dispersion-strengthened composite material by a method that combines combustion by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (HTS) and subsequent high-temperature shear deformation by HTS-extrusion of synthesis products, and can be used to obtain electrodes for electrospark alloying (ESA) and electric arc surfacing (EAS) when applying wear-resistant coatings in the metallurgical, woodworking, tool and machine-building industries. A method for manufacturing electrodes for electrospark alloying and electric arc surfacing includes preparing an exothermic mixture of powders, pressing it into cylindrical billets, placing the billets in a mould, initiating a combustion reaction, compacting combustion products with a pressure of 0.01-0.5 MPa during combustion, and subsequent extrusion combustion products at a pressure of 20-100 MPa. An exothermic mixture of powders is prepared, containing powders of the components at their ratio, by % of weight: Ti 32-64, C 8-16, NiCr 20-60 and, if necessary, W in an amount of not more than 20 by % of weight, and the mixture is pressed into cylindrical blanks to a relative density of 0.5-0.6.
EFFECT: high mechanical properties of the electrodes and reduced average grain size.
