FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to the production of materials by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS), in particular free SHS compression. It can be used in aircraft engineering, metallurgy, machine building and engine building. Workpiece is pressed from the exothermic mixture of powders in the form of alternating layers containing at least one metal-ceramic layer and at least one intermetallic layer with a layer height ratio of 1:0.1 to 1:9. Cermet layer consists of a mixture of powders containing 52-70 at.% Ti and 30-48 at.% B. Intermetallic layer consists of a mixture of powders containing 42-45 at.% Al, 3-5 at.% Nb, 0.1-2 at.% Mo, 0.1-0.2 at.% B, Ti is the rest. Workpiece is placed on a titanium base and a combustion reaction is initiated to carry out self-propagating high-temperature synthesis. Then, pressing is performed under conditions of high-temperature shear plastic deformation at free compression of combustion products. Product layers are formed in situ during combustion and have laminar structure, direction of which is perpendicular to applied load and parallel to shear deformation.
EFFECT: single-step production of layered composite materials with controlled structure and improved mechanical characteristics.
