FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to abrasive tools and may be used for making cutoff diamond wheels. Proposed method comprises forming the wheel working surface by electrolytic deposition of diamond coating on wheel body. Prior to electrolytic deposition, electric insulation is applied on wheel body surface, lengthwise grooves are made in said body to preset geometry and said electric insulation is removed. Note here that electrolytic deposition of diamond-bearing material is made at two steps: first step is executed after making holes to be filled with diamond-bearing material while second step is realised after removal of electric insulation.
EFFECT: thicker wheel working surface, hence, longer life.
