FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and a method of producing a disodium salt of 3-sulphate betulinic acid - a biologically active substance which is a complement inhibitor and is of great interest in medicine. Betulinic acid is sulphated in N,N-dimethylformamide with a SO3-dimethylformamide complex at temperature of 30-50°C for 3-4 hours, followed by treatment of the reaction mixture with 75% water-ethanol solution and separating the end product.
EFFECT: wider range of sulphating agents, simplification of the process by avoiding use of liquid SO3.
