FIELD: food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of food products storage. The food product storage device represents a vessel with walls, a bottom and a cover. The device body is made of cedar wood. In one of the device structural element (wall, bottom or cover) at least one indent is made wherein a capsule is placed containing a bactericidal agent. The intent is covered with a perforated plug matching the indent geometry and made of the same material as the device body. The plug holes diameter is equal to 0.5-5 mm. The bactericidal agent used in the capsule is cedar pitch. The capsule or the upper part thereof is maid of an air-permeable material such as textile, micromesh or thin-walled perforated cedar wood plate. The amount of pitch in the device capsule is equal to 0.5-5 g, depending on the device volume. In devices with volume in excess of 0.25 m³ capsules wit pitch are uniformly distributed along the whole length and width.

EFFECT: invention ensures products storage without chilling and absence of sharp or unpleasant foreign odours in the product being stored.
