SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science. An insecticidal composition for parasites such as fleas and ticks, for topical application contains an ingredient of non-mobile insect growth-regulating chemical containing pyriproxyfen, an ingredient of mobile insect growth-regulating chemical containing methoprene or hydroprene, and an insecticide that kills only adult insects. The composition for topical application contains a combination of the two insect growth-regulating chemicals and an additional insecticide. The composition for topical application can be packaged so that the active ingredients are all together or so that the active components are stored separately before introducing the insecticidal composition for topical application into the animal.
EFFECT: method provides safety for using and avoids many common hazardous side effects specific for standard applied compositions for topical application.
