FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to masking of clearance between two vehicle parts moving relative to each other to prevent ingress of paint or other surface processing materials used for processing doors, hood, trunk. Masking long article to be secured to vehicle for masking surface to be painted is molded from foam polymer. Foam polymer incorporates integrated core layer on article outer surface or, at least, on its lengthwise part. Said integrated core layer is located so that if article is secured to vehicle for making surfaces to be painted then, at least, a part of core layer faces the direction wherefrom paint will be applied. Article comprises two foam polymer layers facing each other and bonded by two seams on article lengthwise opposite parts. Proposed method comprises the steps whereat foam polymer sheet with integrated core layer is fed. Said layer is located on, at least, one its main surfaces. Proposed method comprises also contracting and sealing foam material in two parallel lines to form curved surface. Besides it may comprises feeding two foam polymer sheets and applying temperature and pressure to foal polymer surface.
EFFECT: efficient masking.
