FIELD: electrical communication equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustics, in particular to microphones provided with protective means against external negative environmental factors. Microphone comprises a transducer and a closed cell foam body positioned between the transducer and an opening for receiving ambient sound. Closed cell foam is characterised by an insertion loss of not more than 10 dB/mm in the frequency range from 300 to 3400 Hz. Transducer is enclosed in the closed cell foam. Microphone comprises a tripod attached to the body. Tripod comprises a tube that enters the body and comprises a wire through which signals from the transducer are transmitted to the other device. Closed cell foam component surrounds the body and comprises an opening for the tripod to pass therethrough. Closed cell foam is located at a distance from the transducer of approximately 0.5 to 50 mm. Closed cell foam is characterised by an average pore size of 0.1 to 1 mm3. Foam material is characterised by density from 15 to 50 kg/m3. Closed cell foam contains a polymer, for example ethylene vinyl acetate.
EFFECT: technical result is higher protection efficiency of the transducer with minimal insertion loss for audio reception.
