FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed coiler comprises drum 4 to run about axle 3. Note here that rolled stock 2 is fed from pinch roll 5 to coiler to be coiled thereon. Note here that shaft gate 6 is arranged between said pinch roll 5 and coiler drum 4 to turn about shaft 8 parallel with axle 3 at distant area 4. To get tightly coiled roll, at least one coolant sprayer 10 is arranged on shaft gate side 9 turned from coiler drum 4. Note also that shaft gate 6 has, at least, one hole 11 to release coolant from sprayer 10 via shaft gate 6 on its side 12 facing coiler drum 4 onto rolled stock surface 2. Proposed method comprises coiling rolled stock 2 without cooling to preset coiling length after which said rolled stock 2 is cooled.
EFFECT: higher quality of steel strip roll.
