FIELD: processing of metals.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to winding of rolled metal strip. Strip is deflected by pull rollers unit from first direction of movement to second direction of motion and is fed to coiler. In coiler, metal strip is wound in roll with specified diameter of roll. Plastic end deformation of metal strip end section is performed so that end section in unloaded condition is bent with definite radius of bend. Plastic deformation of end section (8) is at least partially caused by asymmetric loading of sides of end section (8) with cooling medium (21). End part (8) is loaded with cooling medium (21) at length of end section (8), which is more than half of outer coil of roll (6), but less than full outer coil of roll (6).
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of increasing the degree of reliability of winding.
