SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry and specifically to a novel derivative of tetramethyloxyphenylcalix[4]arene , which is capable of sorbing azo dyes from aqueous solutions.
EFFECT: obtaining a sorbent which exhibits the highest efficiency in sorbing Congo red and wider range of existing agents for sorbing azo dyes from aqueous solutions.
