FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of producing a sorbent based on synthetic aluminosilicate with a montmorillonite structure for complex and effective purification of waste and drinking water from organic dyes and heavy metals. Magnesium acetate and silicon dioxide are used as initial reagents to obtain the sorbent. The mixture of starting components is subjected to hydrothermal treatment at a temperature of 220–300°C in distilled water for 3–5 days. After the crystallization products are washed with distilled water and dried at 120°C for 4 hours. The resulting sorbent corresponds to the chemical formula Mg3Si4O10⋅nH2O, has a high sorption capacity for organic dyes and heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions.
EFFECT: obtaining a method of sorbent production.
