SUBSTANCE: mechanical seal includes the following: the first and the second opposite sealing elements, each of which has an annular sealing surface enveloping the shaft. The first sealing element has the possibility of creating the seal for the rotating shaft, and the second sealing element has the possibility of creating the seal for the housing. Sealing surfaces can be in sliding contact. An installation assembly has the possibility of fixing one of the sealing elements in the required position relative to the support structure of mechanical seal. The installation assembly includes a support having the base attached to one sealing element, a locking rib and a retaining part for clamping the locking rib relative to the support structure so that transfer of the torque between one sealing element and the support structure is provided.
