SUBSTANCE: backlighting unit 12 includes a chassis 14, multiple lamps 18 with a cold cathode, an optical element 16 and multiple support elements 20. The chassis 14 has a hole at the side of light emission. Sources of light are lamps 18 with a cold cathode, which are arranged into a parallel layout and are placed in the chassis 14. The optical element 16 is arranged at the side of light emission from outside relative to the lamps 18 with a cold cathode, closing the opening of the chassis 14. The support elements 20 are arranged into a parallel layout along the direction of the parallel arrangement of the lamps 18 with the cold cathode. The support elements 20 are formed so that locations of the optical element 16 support are arranged relatively closer to the lamps 18 with the code cathode near the centre and relatively further from the lamps 18 with the cold cathode near edges. The lamps 18 with the cold cathode are arranged with relatively small gaps near the centre and with relatively large gaps near the edges.

EFFECT: reduced unevenness of brightness and thickness of a backlighting device.
