FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: device consists a cascade impactor and a reactor arranged in series, as well as a container for a reactant which reduces RuO4 to RuO2 which is connected to the reactor. The reactor is a container having two nozzles at its inlet: a nozzle for feeding the minor part of the gas stream ranging from 0.8% to 1.0% into the container with the reactant and a nozzle for feeding vapour of the reactant from the container into the reactor. At the reactor output there is a filter which traps RuO2 and a mesh which prevents rapture of the filter. The bottom part of the reactor is fitted with a nozzle for connecting a flow agitator.

EFFECT: design of an efficient, cheap and compact device for simultaneous measurement of volumetric activity and dispersity of the aerosol and gaseous fractions of radioactive ruthenium.
