SUBSTANCE: when a handover takes place, a mobile station receives from a base station of a handover source, information on the base station of handover destination and information related to the sequence to be used for transfer of a signal of arbitrary access to the base station of the handover destination. The mobile station receives a signal of a synchronisation channel sent from the base station of handover destination. Afterwards the mobile station sends a signal of arbitrary access to the base station of handover destination with a time shift by the predefined period from the time of synchronisation channel receipt and at the frequency corresponding to the frequency of the synchronisation channel. The position of time/frequency used for transfer of a random access signal for a handover, is used exclusively through a random access signal sent from a mobile terminal, for which the handover is carried out, or is used exclusively simultaneously by means of multiple mobile stations, for which handovers take place.

EFFECT: reduction of time spent for a handover due to suppression of noise between random access signals sent from multiple mobile stations.
