FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a polymer composite material having biocidal functionality, a method for production thereof and use of said material. The polymer composite material having biocidal functionality contains at least one polymer base and at least one solid biocidal active component. Said at least one solid biocidal active component is an organic herbicide which can be isolated from the polymer composite material by diffusion and/or osmosis. The polymer composite material contains at least one polymer base having at least one coating layer. The coating layer contains said organic herbicide and has water absorption of at least 100% per given area of the coating layer. The method of producing the polymer composite material involves: mixing at least one coating compound and at least one solid biocidal active component so that the biocidal active component is included in form of a molecular solution; coating a polymer base with said mixture and curing the mixture obtain a coating layer.

EFFECT: obtaining a polymer composite material having biocidal functionality for use in agriculture and/or gardening as a mulching film, a fumigation film, a culturing film, culturing pots, seedling trays and/or harvesting trays.
