SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the industry of ceramic materials, mainly to compositions of mixtures for making light brick. The ceramic composition for making light brick contains beidellite clay and a waste precipitate from reactant treatment of waste water containing the following, wt %: SiO₂ - 2.5; Al₂O₃ - 5.4; Fe₂O₃ - 7.2; CaO - 42.4; MgO - 7.6; loss on ignition - 34.2; with the following ratio of components, wt %: beidellite clay - 50-70; waste precipitate from reactant treatment of waste water - 30-50.

EFFECT: reduced density and high strength and frost resistance of articles.
