SUBSTANCE: method for reducing emissions of harmful substances at cold start of an internal combustion engine equipped with a system of further waste gas treatment, which contains at least one unit of diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), at least one particulate filter (PF) for a diesel engine and a unit of selective catalytic reduction (SCR), involves the following: heating of DOC unit prior to cold start of the internal combustion engine; start of the internal combustion engine and control of its operation to provide the specified limit level of NOx emissions when DOC unit has been heated up to the specified temperature; optimisation of fuel consumption at the specified total level of harmful emissions when PF and SCR unit have been heated up to the specified temperature. Harmful emissions reduction device at the cold start of the diesel internal combustion engine is described.
EFFECT: reduction of fuel consumption with simultaneous reduction of harmful emissions.
