FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves determining and establishing initial dimensions of the field of view of a viewing device, superimposing said field with an object and holding in that position for a given period of time. The position of the optical axis of the viewing device is brought into the field of view of the viewing device; a stabilised line of sight is formed and adjusted in the initial state with the optical axis of the viewing device. The direction and magnitude of the angular velocity of deviation from the optical axis of the viewing device of the stabilised line of sight is determined; the stabilised line of sight is moved at the same speed in the opposite direction and superimposed with viewing point on the viewed object. As the viewing device manoeuvres, the its turning angle about its optical axis and the elevation angle of the stabilised line of sight are measured; the deviation angle of the line of sight from the given position is determined and the line of sight is moved in the opposite direction by the same angle to the given position; a viewing index is illuminated; brightness and colour of its illumination are gradually changed until optimum contrast with the viewed object is achieved; the field of view is reduced to a size defined using a mathematical formula. After a time tg+td, where tg is the given viewing time, td is the time delay of the eye-viewing device system, the initial dimensions of the field of view of the viewing device are restored.

EFFECT: high noise immunity and accuracy of viewing.
