FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: recording device records onto a recording medium, for which a feed roller (35) moves the recording medium in a feed direction. The feed path (P) includes an arched section which directs the recording medium and bends the recording medium behind a printed contact zone between a recording head (31) and the feed roller (35) in the feed direction. An ejection section ejects the recording medium. A detection unit lies at a distance from the feed path. The detection unit detects the recording medium deviating from the feed path (P) when the recording medium is pulled in and along the feed roller near the arched section of the feed path. A controller turns the feed roller (35) backwards by a given value so as to move the recording medium backwards when the recording medium is detected by the detection unit and then turns the feed roller (35) forward by at least a given value.
EFFECT: shorter idle time of the recording device due to jamming of the recording medium.
