FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: double-flow steam turbine and cooling method of double-flow steam turbine (2) is described. Steam turbine includes a pair of nozzles (18), rotor (6) carrying blades (12) of sections, and housing (8) carrying a pair of nozzles (18). Each nozzle (18) is located in the turbine section. Steam flow is supplied to each nozzle (18) of turbine (2) sections. Direction of the flow is changed for the reverse one for some part of each flow (4) of steam for obtaining reverse flow (26) of steam from rear side to front side of each section. Each reverse flow (26) of steam is directed to annular gap (16) between rotor (6) and housing (8). Reverse flows (26) of steam are removed through pipe (20) having the first end in annular gap (16) at the first pressure and the second end at the second pressure, which is lower than the first pressure.
EFFECT: improving the cooling of steam turbine housing.
